Informed Consent
This research study aims to understand how early life experiences affect adult dog behaviour. We invite your participation, which will involve taking a 30-minute survey that includes multiple-choice questions and several questions about your background.
You have the right not to answer any question, and to stop participation at any time. Your participation in this study is voluntary. If you choose not to participate or withdraw from the study (which you can do at any time), there will be no penalty. You must be 18 or older to participate in the study.
While there are no direct benefits to you for your participation, information from this study will be used to better understand the human-dog bond. There are no foreseeable risks or discomforts to your participation. Your responses will be anonymous and confidential. The results of this study may be used in reports, presentations, or publications only in aggregate (averaged and summarized together) form. Deidentified data from this study will only be shared among the research team members. Your answers and your results will be handled in such a way that unauthorized persons cannot access them.
This study is a collaboration between scientists at Linköping University, Sweden, and Arizona State Univeristy (ASU), USA. While this project will primarily be conducted at Linköping University, researchers at ASU are assisting with recruitment and data analysis.
